Clinical Supervision for New Social Workers

  • Are you in your first five years as a social worker?
  • Are you in a mental health organization, a school, or a hospital?
  • Are you starting a private practice?
  • Are your questions about clinical matters being answered?
  • Do you feel like you are getting adequate training and supervision?

Group and individual supervision is an important learning experience. Many of us were forced to “fly blind” clinically, and to guess about how to treat people when we could have more guidance from Master Clinicians and peers.

  • If you are becoming more and more aware of what you don’t know
  • If you are starting to feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of work
  • If you are isolated and want colleagues at the same point in their careers
  • If you have a burning desire for clinical knowledge
  • If you need a place to bring cases

I offer an opportunity to learn about how to conceptualize cases, and how to move through work with individuals, couples, and adults. We can use group supervision or individual supervision, or both depending on your preferences. I will include case consultation, and some didactic presentations. It’s important to know where I come from conceptually, and where you come from conceptually (if you know that); and so an initial interview is free of charge. Groups of 6-8 fill quickly. Individual supervisees accepted on a first come first served basis.
